Priority Led Budgeting Workshop 31st January
2012
Reducing costs and improving services
We have all faced difficult decisions in the last year about how
and where to cut costs in the delivery of our services. Those tough
decisions will continue in budget setting this year, so that's why
Chorley Council is offering the chance use their successful
Priority Led Budgeting approach to make savings while protecting
frontline services.
Using Priority Led Budgeting, Chorley Council has achieved its
savings requirements for 2011/12 and 2012/13 without impacting on
frontline savings and still being able to invest significantly in
priority areas.
What is Priority Led Budgeting?
- A fast technique - your whole organisation can be reviewed in
just six weeks
- Uses rough cut activity based costing to get to the true cost
of delivering services
- Gives you powerful tools and techniques to identify the areas
for cost reductions, and the areas for investment
