North West Chief Executives work together
11 March 2010
North West Chief Executives
work together to join up vital services for local
people.
On Friday 12th March 2012, the region's leading public service
organisations - such as Government Office, the North West
Development Agency, local authorities and the NHS - will come
together at Aintree Racecourse. They will tackle the key
issues facing the region - such as improving the health and
wellbeing of local communities, helping people into jobs, and
making services more efficient and responsive.
A key note speaker will be Irene Lucas, the Director-General at
the Department of Communities and Local Government. She says "These
challenges can no longer be seen as the responsibility of one arm
of the public sector. They cross the NHS, education, housing,
transport and other areas. This makes partnership working -
locally, regionally and nationally - ever more vital, not just
between agencies but between them and the communities they
serve."
Mike Farrar NHS North West Chief Executive adds "we have a
responsibility to ensure that public funding spent in this region
gives communities the best possible services. Our population
deserves nothing less, and that means we need to work with all of
our partners to join up services in ways that make sense to
communities and not organisations."
